Apart of my Minor Project module we had the opportunity to present a concept for this years degree show identity. The university was looking for a bold, fresh and creative design with a focus on sustainability, with the idea of the using it for the next three years with little to no change. It was also important that the concept could be easily adaptable for different media/channels such as social media and web.
For my concept I focused on a module system with the base grid consisting of a pattern made from the Napier Bones, a manual calculation device created by John Napier, the pattern is already consistently used throughout Napier documents.
With my concept being based of a pin board it allowed for it to be something physical as well as digital, which will allow the idea to be reused and changed in years to come to suit that year of graduates.
I pitched my idea with a large out of home print, a bus advert, a phone booth advert, door signs and social media posts.
